Farmers’ Market Feature: Hipstitch Academy

Hipstitch Academy is a sewing school started by Megan Avery as a way to encourage people to make their own clothing and alter thrifted clothes as alternatives to fast fashion. The school is online, in-person in Harpersfield, and at the Delhi Farmers’ Market.

At the Delhi Farmers’ Market, Megan accepts items that need to be hemmed, altered, and more. Items can be left at the market with Megan and picked up at a later time. The Charlotteville General Store is a quant shop that offers breakfast and lunch sandwiches and roasts its own coffee beans in the hamlet of Charlotteville in Summit, NY. Each Saturday they roast organic Guatemalan and Peruvian fair-trade coffee beans that are used to brew coffee served in the general store or packaged to be sold elsewhere. Charlotteville General Store Coffee Roastery coffee blends can be found in stores around New York and New Jersey, and each week at the Delhi Farmers’ Market.

Farmers’ Market Feature: Burn Ayr Farm

Burn Ayr Farm is a multigenerational farm located on Route 28 in Delhi, NY. This farm has gone through a variety of iterations since its 1890 beginnings. It was once an active dairy farm, and throughout the early 90’s a high-profile organic vegetable producer in New York City Markets. Now the focus of Burn Ayr Farm is 100% grass-fed Highland Beef cattle and Heritage Hogs. You can purchase their products at the Delhi Farmers Market every Wednesday from 10am-2pm or everyday of the week at the farm stand on Route 28 beginning in May. From May-October their farm stand is open with local seasonal vegetables, honey, dairy products, herbal remedies, and other locally made and produced products.

Farmers' Market Feature: Bakers Grimm

Delhi Farmers’ Market regulars have found a new home and dedicated baking space on Main Street in Delhi. Bakers Grimm, known for their crocodile bread and pretzel bagels, among other delicious baked goods, has a new location in the heart of town. Once the bakery is in full swing, it will offer sandwiches, espresso, coffee, and its renowned baked goods from the cozy shop at 116 Main. Farmers’ Market Feature: Elsewhere Farm

Elsewhere Farm is located in Hamden, NY, and specializes in microgreens and playfully potted succulents. The farm offers dried flower bouquets, handmade jewelry, and crafted items with a personal touch. Elsewhere Farm offers a variety of items depending on the season. Visiting them at the farmers’ market is always worth the stop.

Farmers' Market Feature: Rev Spirits

Rev Spirits makes mead and spirits in time-honored distilling methods to create a rich, finely crafted product. Everything they make is in honor of the honey bees. RevSpirits, started by friends Phil and Bill, were beekeepers first. They grew curious about what they could do with their raw honey. Pizzo’s Gourmet Foods from Delhi, NY, specializes in Italian cuisine such as pasta dishes, subs, salads, desserts, and more. They make fresh ravioli, fresh pasta, prepared meals, sauces, salad dressing, and desserts (like cheesecake and cannolis!). You can find them at the Delhi Farmers’ Market or at their location at 27905 NY-28 for dine-in or pick-up.

Farmers’ Market Feature: The Farmer's Wife

The Farmer’s Wife, also known as Barb Hanselman of Del-Rose Farm, makes fresh pies and other baked goods, selling them weekly at the farmers’ market in Delhi. Seasonally, her pies are sold at the Del-Rose Farm stand (and other local farm stands!) alongside fresh produce and sweet corn.

Farmers’ Market Feature: Muddy Nose Dog Biscuits

What began as a quest to make a delicious all natural treat for her then sick dog Smokey, has turned into good fortune for anyone visiting the Delhi Farmers’ Market where you will find Muddy Nose Dog Biscuits. Made from ingredients that you can pronounce and recognize, these treats are winning over pups of every persuasion. With a great crunch and ingredients a human would consume (whole wheat flour, wheat germ, chicken broth and a dash of garlic powder), Muddy Nose Dog Biscuits are quickly becoming a favorite treat for dogs in the area.

Lucky Dog Organic is a farm in Hamden, NY, that has been in operation since 2000. Seasonally, they employ many farmers to help with day to day operations, creating opportunities for people to learn or expand their experience of farming while producing quality, organic produce. They sell their produce in a variety of ways including at local farmers’ markets and through the 607 CSA.

Rock Royal Farm, located in Walton, NY, sells their products and produce at local farmers’ markets and stores such as Hamden General, First Bloom Corner Store, and Stamford Coffee. They sell coffee, granola, an array of vegetables, chicken, and raw, unfiltered honey. 

They are a regular at the year-round Delhi Farmers’ Market. Browse their quality products each Wednesday at the Delhi American Legion from 10am-2pm and follow their Instagram to keep up with the latest.

Bakers Grimm is a Delhi Farmers’ Market staple selling classic breads, bagels, and pastries made fresh. Their delicious and well-received baked goods are made with NYS-milled flour and pristine Catskill water. Bakers Grimm sells their products wholesale in the county and weekly at area markets. Delmar Crim studied at the Culinary Institute of America and founded Bakers Grimm, with his wife Carla, after a long career in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Black Willow Pond Farm is a family-farm located in Cobleskill, NY. Coming from 6 generations of farmers, Black Willow Pond Farm takes pride in farming, particularly the quality of their meats and goods. They abide by strict pasture management and intentional grazing, which provides their livestock with a nutrient rich forage. They offer whole chickens, chicken feet, pork, pork bones, beef, lamb, lamb sausage, lamb pelts and much more.

Berry Brook Farm is an organic vegetable farm located in Hamden. The farming duo started Berry Brook in Delancey in 2013 and purchased their forever farm in Hamden in 2019. With a love for hard-work and sustainable agriculture, this farm is dedicated to organic farming and distributing their produce to the local community. Berry Brook participates in the 607 CSA, which makes their vegetables accessible to those in the Catskills and beyond.

Catskills Pasta Company makes fresh extruded and handmade pasta in Delhi, NY. They make a variety of pasta styles including, gnocchetti sardi, spaghetti, creste di gallo, and cocoa pappardelle. During the summer months, you will find their pasta for sale at the Farmers’ Market and during the winter, visit EightyMain Kitchen and Bar for handmade pasta to bring home or enjoy pasta warm and fresh from the restaurant. Farmers’ Market Feature: Maria’s Upstate Kitchen

Maria’s Upstate Kitchen at Alder Pond Farm in Andes, NY, regularly vends at the Delhi Farmers’ Market. They specialize in baked goods made with King Arthur’s Flour, pasture raised eggs and no preservatives. You’ll find a variety of tempting items such as cranberry orange scones, cinnamon rolls, almond cake, chocolate bread, and baguettes. They also offer multiple spice blends and other goodies.

Roxbury Arts Group offers high quality performances and programming at three different venues in Delaware County. They offer an array of workshops year-round for people of all ages, incorporating many different styles of art. Each year Roxbury Arts Group administers the Delaware County Arts Grant Program that provides funding to non-profit organizations and artists within the county for special projects and programs. The application for the grant program is currently open for 2024 projects.

Farmers' Market Feature: Chesterbury Farms

Chesterbury Farms was started in 2019 in Davenport, NY, and has since been growing gourmet mushrooms for local farmers’ markets around the Western Catskills including at the Delhi Farmers’ Market. They grow a variety of gourmet mushrooms rotating with the seasons including various Oyster Mushrooms, King Trumpet, Chestnut, Lions Mane, Pioppino, and Shiitake. Chesterbury Farms is always trying to expand what they offer so visit them at the market regularly for their new offers.
