Farmers' Market Spotlight: Balcom Court

Balcom Court is the work of Lucinda Eden, a maker whose passion for preserving and pottery is deeply rooted in tradition, seasonality, and place.

Based in Oxford, NY, Lucinda spends her summers gathering fruit from secret foraging spots, heirloom orchards, and wild thickets — carefully selecting only the ripest berries and produce. Her preserves, jams, and sauces are made using techniques passed down from her mother, and crafted with very little added sugar so the natural flavor of the fruit takes center stage.

The result is something rare: jams that taste vibrant, bright, and unmistakably real — a jar of summer captured at its peak.

But Balcom Court doesn’t stop at what’s spooned from the jar. Lucinda also creates wheel-thrown and hand-built pottery, offering functional, thoughtfully crafted pieces that reflect the same simplicity and authenticity as her preserves. Her ceramics are designed to be used, loved, and integrated into daily rituals — from morning toast to shared meals.

At the Delhi Farmers’ Market, Balcom Court represents what makes our market special: small-batch goods made by hand, rooted in family tradition, and inspired by the land around us.

Stop by, taste the difference, and take home something made with intention — whether it’s a jar of wild berry jam or a handmade ceramic piece that will last for years.

Follow Balcom Court on Instagram to see what’s in season and what’s coming to market next.

Wednesdays are the busiest day in the Village of Delhi because of the Delhi Farmers’ Market. Parking is limited right by Courthouse Square but don’t let that deter you from making a trip to town. There is ample parking in the Village of Delhi, it is just two turns off of Main Street. Across from Tractor Supply, between the Country Store and NAPA, is a short road to Hoyt Park and the Municipal Parking lot. Not everyone knows about this convenient parking lot (which also has four electric vehicle charging ports!), but it is just a three minute walk from Courthouse Square.

Get your groceries from the farmers’ market, including tacos, Momos, or soup to eat for lunch, walk back to Hoyt Park, and enjoy your delicious pickings at a picnic table along the Delaware River! This is a peaceful, cute corner in the village. Let your friends and family know about this great place to park and enjoy an easy morning on your way to the Delhi Farmers’ Market!
