Greater Delhi Chamber of Commerce Meeting Minutes May 11, 2026

General Attendance - Nini, Jonah, Robert, Eileen, James, Lisa, Maggie, Emily, Maya, Fred, Stacey

Bank balances:

○       Community Bank - $31,500

○       Delhi - $22,700

○       money coming in from Harvest fest, bridge run, still nothing coming in for farmer’s market

○       Christina needs to shore up the signers on the accounts - outdated

○       We need to update the signers on the Delaware National Bank to remove Gennaro Pellegrino, Laura Stewart, Hope Knapp, Christina Viafore and Tanya Fedo from the account, and add to the eboard President Jerry Pellegrino, VP Jim Smart, Secretary Hallie Avolio, and treasurer Lisa Wisely.

Harvest Fest

○       raised rate from $35 to $40 - no complaints

○       people are signing up

○       need to get a dumpster per county guidelines - but looking for alternatives because it doesn’t make sense to get one for this event - will ask Nelson from Shire - SUNY Delhi is a possibility - Casella ?

○       September 26th - doesn’t conflict with cauliflower festival

Membership

○       great membership journey meeting last month - working on a streamlined “talking points” list so we are all informed about our value proposition for prospective members

○       member perks - collect that info from members - do they offer a perk? If so, let’s put it on the website so members know (i.e. DTC $300 off first bill for new service, ADP discounts on payroll processings, 10% off your stay at Inn at Octagon Acres when you mention the Delhi Chamber); look at Membership Works for “deals” section - members might be able to update their profile to include whatever their offers are

○       sign thank you notes and send to new members - stock pile at board meeting

○       last month 11 new members

○       37 members are renewed that haven’t received any formal communication

○       discussion around when members can renew - Hallie & Mike will work on some e-mail copy that will be automatically sent via MembershipWorks

○       Mike will send out Google Sheet to board with list of members who have renewed - board can say thank you

○       keep September as a marketing opporunity/membership drive

○       can we consider moving our e-mail system to MailChimp from Constant Contact because MailChimp and MembershipWorks have an integration?

Marketing

○       shout out about how awesome the newsletter was

○       talked about having a tent for the Chamber at the Farmer’s Market

■       at least main weeks - but possibly every week

■       Board members should do at least 1 market

■       tent costs from 2 vendors $900 - $1600 - could be used everywhere

■       Val suggested a local vendor for another quote

Next mixer

○       June 2nd - Steady Slope & Conditioning 5p-8p

  Farmer’s Market

○       we don’t supply in May or Nov

○       we have someone who will help with the tent set up - he gets paid

Pellegrino grants - judges are deciding

Bridge Run - Jun 6th, 9AM start

NEW BUSINESS

○       new contact from SBA - small business administration - he wants to come to a meeting to share about the programs for small businesses that are available - Jerry has his contact info

○       SUNY - may want to rent out River View apartments as short-term rentals but more “hostile” style - as in, low-cost, little amenities, etc.

○       possible county wide parade Aug 2?

●       Kiosk - design chosen - headed to the construction department

●       Parades and Special Events committee

○       Jim reaching out to marching bands for a potential parade

○       has 2 bands interested in participating in Harvest Fest if we extend down to Tractor Supply

○       Add the Memorial Day parade for next year?

GENERAL MEETING UPDATES

○       Maya talked about changes to the county for sales tax revenue - feel free to e-mail, text, stop by with any comments/questions

○       Comprehensive plan meeting on June 10th at Bluestone 5:30p

○       Clearview Windows - new business just joined

○       Goosetown Communications - 2 way radio communication - larger footprint (based in CT)

○       James - came to seek clarity about what benefits members get

○       Lisa - question about what gets shared on Instagram - lifestyle vs. business events

■       good conversation around the branding/story we are telling as a chamber

○       Open studio this weekend

○       May 30th fundraising event at SUNY - Democratic event

○       Zoning committee - working on parking rules for the village - talking about leveraging signage for municipal parking lot on market day - also communicate to chamber members

○       parking now being enforced in the village and tickets being given out

○       suggestion - can we put activities for families and kids on the website?

○       Pellegrino award will be announced at next mixer

○       Star awards - nominate for next mixer - need at least 5 nominations to make a decision
