Living and working in the Catskills has plenty of advantages. Staying focused when the mountains, garden, laundry, kids, pets and everything else at home are competing for your attention? That can be a little harder.
Stage House Bovina offers another option: personal creative workspaces designed to give remote workers, freelancers, entrepreneurs and other independent professionals a dedicated place to get things done—right in the heart of Bovina.
The idea comes from owner Mark Foster, a 15-year Bovina resident who understands the challenges of working independently firsthand. A lifelong freelancer, Mark makes films, roasts coffee, builds custom wooden trailers and has worked across design and branding—all while raising three children with his partner, Alana.
After years of navigating the distractions that come with working from home, Mark came to appreciate how valuable it can be to give work a space of its own.
That philosophy is at the center of Stage House.
“The value of assigning your ‘work brain’ its own uninterrupted time and place is essential to the quality of work you do,” Mark says. “We do, after all, live in the most distractingly beautiful place in New York!”
Your Desk. Your Space. Your Workday.
Stage House isn't designed around dropping into a crowded room and hoping to find a seat. Individual members receive a dedicated personal workspace they can make part of their regular routine.
Individual memberships are $295 per month, while partner memberships provide two people with two desks for $500 per month. Memberships can be canceled at any time and include daily access from 6am to 8pm, with after-hours extensions available by request.
Members receive:
A dedicated personal workspace
Complimentary FosterBuilt Coffee
Access to all membership areas
Discounted rates for event-space rentals
Company and group pricing is also available.
And for people or businesses needing more room, Stage House offers larger private offices with comfortable, spacious and secure rooms that can become a company's home base.
And Then There’s Strangeway Hall
Stage House also holds a fascinating piece of Bovina history.
Constructed in 1874, Strangeway Hall has taken on a number of roles during its long life, including serving as Bovina's town hall until 1930.
Today, the second-story theater space is available for private events. Located alongside Brush Brook, the historic hall includes a large second-floor patio looking up the Pink Street valley, creating a distinctive setting for gatherings and special occasions.
Mark calls it one of “Bovina's best kept historical secrets,” and it's easy to understand why.
Yes, There’s Coffee
There is one other membership benefit worth mentioning: unlimited complimentary FosterBuilt Coffee.
As Mark puts it, “We know a guy.”
Fresh FosterBuilt Coffee is available to Stage House members all day, every day—making the commute to your new office considerably more appealing.
Stage House represents the kind of creative entrepreneurship we love seeing throughout the greater Delhi area: taking an existing local space, responding to the changing ways people live and work, and creating something that helps other people build businesses and careers here.
If your home office has become a little too much like home—or you simply need a place to think, create and get things done—Stage House Bovina might be exactly what you're looking for.
