The Delhi Farmers’ Market has officially moved indoors until spring! The market will continue each Wednesday, from 10am-2pm, now from the indoor comfort of the Delhi American Legion. If you have yet to visit the legion, you are in for a treat. The room where the farmers’ market is held is full of character with a beautiful wooden ceiling and beams. Supporting local farmers’ through the colder months is a great way to help sustain their presence in our community. Farmers’ are growing greens and vegetables inside greenhouses to provide the community with fresh vegetables year round. One Remaining Outdoor Farmers' Market
The Delhi Farmers’ Market is a huge attraction each summer in the village of Delhi and this summer was no different. With over 50 vendors each week, the community had a bounty of produce, baked goods, preserves, herbal products, and much more at their fingertips. The food vendors provided a destination for lunch, and Courthouse Square was a wonderful place to spend the afternoon. After a successful outdoor season, the market will move indoors to the Delhi American Legion on November 6th. You can still get your farmers’ market haul deep into the throes of winter. Ty’s Taco-Ria taco truck drives all over the area serving up delicious tacos made with local ingredients. The taco truck has been a staple at the Delhi Farmers’ Market all season long, feeding the community high quality taco’s, tortilla chips, guacamole, and fresh beverages. Though their season is winding down, they may have a few appearances in the community. Clark Dairy Farms is a fifth generation dairy farm on Elk Creek in Delhi, NY. The farm offers a variety of products with their own dairy including milk, butter, chocolate milk, cold brew, and seasonally, eggnog. They have recently announced that they will soon release cream cheese. Delhi Farmers' Market, Year-Round!
The Delhi Farmers’ Market was a huge success this summer! With Courthouse Square filled with local vendors every Wednesday, rain or shine, the patrons of the market were supplied with their weekly groceries. Local farmers were selling fresh produce, meat and eggs, and on top of that, there were amazing vendors selling jam and preserves, hot sauce, herbal remedies, hand-carved wooden items, jewelry, cheese, flowers, baked goods, and much more.
This past Wednesday at the farmers’ market, the vendors celebrated the success of summer with a pot luck lunch and a lovely group photo! The market will continue outdoors until October 30th. On November 6th, the market will move indoors at the Delhi American Legion at 41 Page Avenue.
Thank you to all of the wonderful vendors and all of the patrons of the market who continue to make the Delhi Farmers’ Market one of the biggest in the area!
Harvest Festival 2024
The 39th Annual Delhi Harvest Festival was a huge success this year! On the weekend of the fall equinox, 77 vendors offering food, festive crafts, delicious baked goods, and local food, gathered on Courthouse Square and Main Street in Delhi, NY, to welcome community members, visiting families, and everyone in between for a day of festive fall shopping. The weather could not have been better with clear skies, warm sun, and a slight breeze that ushered fall into the Greater Delhi Area.
Families gathered to browse the market while music by Bobby Curious filled the square. Picnic tables in the middle of the square were filled with happy kids snacking on baked goods and sipping on local cider. Setting up and breaking down took place without a hitch thanks to the coordination of Christina Viafore and the helping hands of the brothers from Kappa Sigma Epsilon.
Overall the day was beautiful, filled with community, apple cider donuts, and quality products made by local vendors. Thank you to all of the volunteers, vendors, and members of the Greater Delhi Area Chamber of Commerce Board who helped make this event a success!

The Delaware County Historical Association was founded in 1945 to preserve and present the history of Delaware County. They continue this work today and offer a variety of events and workshops that shine light on the ever evolving culture of the area. Currently on display until Sunday, September 29th, is Quilts Along the Delaware, a show displaying quilts made by the Delaware County Town and Country Quilters. Farmers’ Market Feature: Double Z Farm
Double Z Farm is a family-farm in Delhi, NY. They offer a special variety of items at the Delhi Farmers’ Market including lamb, beef, chicken, and rabbit. Double Z offers alpaca yarn and suet feeders stuffed with alpaca fur that provide nesting birds soft materials to add to their nests. They also sell wooden cutting boards and “Spit Happens” shirts along with other items. Find them at the market to learn more!
Delhi's 2nd Annual Halloween Decorating Contest
Delhi's 2nd Annual Halloween Decorating Contest has been announced! Organized and hosted by a Delaware Academy student, this spooky and fun contest invites businesses and residents of the Village of Delhi to adorn their storefronts and houses with Halloween decor that will wow or horrify all who bear witness.
Businesses and homes are judged in separate categories and prizes will be awarded to those in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place! Enter to join the contest by emailing: delhishalloweencontest@gmail.com. Final judging will take place on October 27th!

Village of Delhi Welcomes Kayak Rentals
The village of Delhi has welcomed a self-serve kayak rental at Hoyt Park. Renting the kayak is easy. Download the app, unlock the equipment, enjoy your paddle, and return! Oftentimes, experienced kayakers paddle in rivers while newcomers and first-timers venture to still bodies of water such as large ponds or small lakes.
It is important to be prepared before you embark on your kayaking adventure! Though the kayaks are available right along the West Branch Delaware River, if you have never used a kayak, consider bringing the kayak to a pond or lake. Below are important considerations to make before beginning a kayak adventure:
-Plan a trip for your experience level
If this is your first time kayaking, consider beginning at a pond or lake. If you are an experienced kayaker, the river may be an appropriate option for you.
-Research local hazards and weather
When the area receives heavy rainfall in a short period of time, the water level will rise making for a more rapid experience on the river. If there has been recent flooding or storms, trees may be down in the river creating a hazard to avoid. Make sure you are aware of the possibilities before beginning your adventure.
-Know your float plan
If kayaking down the river, make sure you know where you will exit the water and have a vehicle there to retrieve the kayak. Kayaks will need to be brought back to the rental location at Hoyt Park.
-Wear a lifejacket
A Personal Floatation Device is mandatory in NYS. Make sure you wear the lifejacket provided.
-Dress for immersion
Even if it isn’t your plan, you may end up getting wet or even fully immersed. Make sure you are dressed in clothing you can swim in.
Chamber Mixer & Star Award Celebration
Thank you to all who attended the Chamber Mixer at Strickland Hollow Farm this past Tuesday, September 10th! We had a fantastic turnout, delicious wine, beer, and cocktails, and food prepared by the SUNY Delhi Hot Foods Culinary Team. We cannot thank our hosts Strickland Hollow Farm enough for hosting a wonderful get together for the business community of the Greater Delhi Area.
At the event, we had the honor to present Lauren O’Leary with a Star Award for her generous and thoughtful work with the community organization W.I.D.E. NY. The organization promotes the inclusion and equality of all people through education and community outreach in the Greater Delhi Area. O’Leary received the award and shared a thoughtful speech highlighting how the support from the local community fueled her efforts.
