Interwoven Wellness Collective is a new business in Delhi, NY, offering the area a much needed place to unwind and receive healing. They offer massage therapy, acupuncture, infrared sauna treatment, Shamanic sessions, Chakra balancing, yoga, and other practices all aimed at improving physical, mental and spiritual health. The Collective was started by Kelsey Adams and Tobais Maendel, who have been partners in the wellness profession and partners in life for over 11 years.

Farmers' Market Feature: Thistlemint Farm

Thistlemint Farm is a collaboratively-owned and operated organic vegetable farm, formed in 2021 in Laurens, NY. The four members of the collaborative work together to grow quality produce with a focus on unique varieties of vegetables and herbs. They care about making their food, land and art, as accessible as possible, and strive to have their regenerative and restorative practices go beyond the basic requirements.

2023 Bridge Run Scholarship Winners

Delaware County celebrated the 27th Annual Delhi Bridge Run this past June with a wonderful turn out. The annual event brings the community together to raise scholarships for two graduating seniors and a charity or club of their choice. Graduating seniors in any Delaware County school are eligible to submit an essay about the charity of their choice, and if selected, the senior and charity receives financial support. 

This year, Stephanie Foote, from Downsville Central School, and Faith Lambert, from Walton Central School, were recipients of the Bridge Run scholarship. Stephanie Foote wrote an essay about the Downsville Fire Department and the beneficial things the volunteer-run department does for the community. She spent many years volunteering with the department, even passing the EMT Certification test when she was 17, which helped her realize her passion for the medical field. Now, she is going on to study diagnostic medical sonography at Alfred State University. 

Faith Lambert wrote about ARC of Delaware County’s Studio 190. Studio 190 is an extension of ARC and provides people with special needs a place to create art and express themselves freely. Faith participated in activities at Studio 190 which showed her how important it is for our community to provide safe spaces of expression for marginalized people. 

As recipients of the awards, Stephanie Foote, Faith Lambert and their organizations of choice, were each awarded a $750 check. This year was another successful Bridge Run thanks to the participants, donors, and community members who made it all happen. We look forward to next year.

Farmers' Market Feature: Wild View Farms

Wild View Farms was started in 2021 by first generation farmers Abby and Noah DeDominicis. Their interest in farming is to give a life to the farm animals they raise by allowing them to live as “wild” as possible and to leave the land in better health than how they found it. Their nutrient-rich food is available to the community through regular farmers’ markets and online with 48 hour delivery.

Chamber Member Spotlight: Tay Tea

Tay Tea on Main Street in Delhi was founded by Nini Ordoubadi in 2003. Drawing from her family history as a third generation tea blender, Nini finds tea to be her muse and inspiration. Tay Tea offers a wide variety of tea blends, clothing, jewelry, skin care and beauty products in her shop. Stop in and be styled by Nini while sipping samples of tea and enjoying the ambiance of the store. If you can’t make it to the shop, Tay Tea regularly ships their items, welcoming freshly blended teas to your doorstep.

Delhi Fair on the Square

Every Friday in July!

The Delhi Fair on the Square is one of our most cherished summer traditions of our area. This event, now in its 50th year, celebrates the local arts, crafts, food, and music of the region. It is about community and fun. Held every Friday from 5-9pm, there is no shortage of activities on the lush green lawn of Courthouse Square.

While we will be announcing the weekly activities here, we want to urge everyone to leave Friday evenings free so you can attend. Meet the vendors in their colorful tents, offering handmade pottery, jewelry, paintings, quilts, candles, and more. Smell the aroma of freshly grilled burgers and other delicious treats that will be available each evening. You will hear the sounds of live music, from bluegrass to rock, filling the air with joy and energy. You’ll see people of all ages and backgrounds enjoying the festive atmosphere, chatting with friends, dancing, playing games, or just relaxing. It is an incredible sight to see kids just roaming free, having the time of their lives. It is one of the many things that makes this event so special.

While the full schedule of events is not yet available, we do know there will be a kick off parade on July 7th to celebrate 50 years of this special event. There will also be fireworks on the 7th at dusk, rain date would be the following Friday should Mother Nature not cooperate.

Grand Opening of The Locale, an Outdoor Bar at The Shire Pub

O’Neill’s Shire Pub has officially opened its outdoor bar, The Locale. This beautiful open-air setting has a lounge area for sipping cocktails with your friends, a bar with plenty of chairs and stools, and tables scattered around the patio. The theme is raw seafood and tapas, sunshine, and summer shenanigans. This lovely addition to the Shire will be open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 5pm, weather permitting.

Chamber Member Spotlight: The Lost Bookshop

The Delhi Community is excited to welcome The Lost Bookshop! This new small business has opened as a way to help readers lose themselves in a good book and find themselves when feeling lost. Located at 120 Main Street, this shop has undergone exceptional renovations and the walls are lined with a variety of genres. You’ll find books for children and young adults, field guides, fiction, funny reads, picture books and everything in between.

Farmers' Market Feature: Magpies on Pink Street and Wilson's Bread

Wilson’s Bread and Magpies on Pink Street are amazing bakers with different specialties and exceptional products. Wilson’s Bread, located in Andes, NY, bakes fantastic country style loaves and seeded sourdough bread, with sweet treats such as croissants, morning buns, pan au chocolate, and other delicious treats. Magpie’s makes two different pie varieties each week with local, in season ingredients. The type of pie is dictated by the season. Buy a whole pie or try a pocket pie! Easy for snacking on the go. 

Both of these bakers have established great reputations for themselves and regularly sell out of products at the weekly Farmers Market in Delhi. They have pre-order options on their websites. Thanks for Joining Us!

Thank you to everyone who attended the most recent Greater Delhi Area Chamber of Commerce networking mixer. This was originally scheduled to be a ribbon cutting to celebrate THE LOCALE, the Shire’s new outdoor experience but due to bad weather and air quality, we hosted this event inside. While we didn’t get to enjoy the outdoors or celebrate the new space, we did enjoy every minute of the mixer.

We used this party to award a check to DBS (Delaware Business Systems) of Delhi who were one of our two 2023 Pellegrino Grant recipients. The other award of $2,500 went to Delaware County Historical Society.

We also used this mixer as an opportunity to give out our 2023 Star Awards.

Thank you to everyone who attended and a big thank you to The Shire Pub for hosting us. These mixers are an opportunity for members or people interested in getting involved in the Chamber to find out who we are and what we are doing. Farmers’ Market Feature: Byebrook Farm

Byebrook Farm is a family owned and operated 8th generation dairy farm located in Bloomville, NY. They make delicious gouda cheese such as smoked, caraway seed and cider washed gouda to name a few. They sell raw milk directly to consumers in their farmstand where you can also find eggs, homemade ice cream, baked goods, maple syrup and honey. Their dairy is of the utmost quality because of their all-natural, hormone free, grass fed farming practices.

Member Spotlight: The Inn at Tollgate Creek

The Inn at Tollgate Creek is a peaceful stay in an 1840s farmhouse bed and breakfast. The house is located in a lovely rural setting and has been in the family since 1890. Like many farms in the area, the Inn was originally a dairy farm, but since then Kevin and Kathy have adapted and now raise Highland beef, hogs, chickens, turkey and a variety of herbs and vegetables. While at the Inn, you can experience farm activities or relax and enjoy the stunning waterfall or visit the Delaware River.

Farmers' Market Feature: Wayside Cider

Wayside Cider is a locally owned and operated cider producer in Andes, NY. Wayside celebrates wild apples of Delaware County by making modern ciders that draw on the history and topography of the Great Western Catskills. Wayside aims to preserve the past while embracing modern production metaphors to produce unique ciders to this region. 

Wayside is a Delhi Farmers’ Market regular offering samples of their delicious ciders each week in Courthouse Square. Sample each one to find your favorite of the week and stock up on ciders! Meredith Dairy Fest 2023

The beloved annual Meredith Dairy Fest is taking place Saturday, June 10th and Sunday, June 11th. June is national dairy month and Delaware County seizes the moment to celebrate the dairy history of the county and the farmers who continue this work today.

Spend the day at the fest in the kids activity tent, shopping in the huge vendor market, enjoying snacks from local food trucks, and learning dairy and farm facts from our farmers. We can’t wait to see you there! Find out more on their website, Facebook and Instagram.

Delhi Fair in the Square Seeks Vendors

The Fair on the Square event in Delhi is looking for vendors. The Fair is held from 5-9 p.m. each Friday in July, rain or shine. The goal is to provide fun-filled evenings for the entire family with games, food, arts and crafts, music, and vendors who, preferably, sell locally grown or homemade items.

27th Annual Delhi Bridge Run

The 27th Annual Delhi Bridge Run is taking place Saturday, June 3rd in Delhi. This time tested event has been bringing the community together for nearly three decades to raise money for two graduating seniors and a charitable organization of their choice. The race begins and ends at Hoyt Park in Delhi with an awards ceremony immediately following. There is still time to make donations and sign up to participate. The race would not be possible without the community's participation. We hope to see you there!

This year W.I.D.E, NY is hosting a festival immediately following the Bridge Run at Courthouse Square in Delhi. This event is unrelated to the annual run but encourages families to come over from the Bridge Run to enjoy food and activities. This is a family-friendly event with activities like rolling your own sushi, making persian tea blends and a West African drumming demonstration. Find out more on their website.

Farmers' Market Feature: Catskill Momos

Catskill Momos is a Himalayan Restaurant that sells authentic Tibetan dumplings, Mango Lassi and other rotating items at the Delhi Farmers’ Market. They offer a variety of sauces to accompany your momos so you can accent the taste exactly how you like it.

It’s a perfect lunch to have while doing your weekly shopping at the market but you can also catch Catskill Momos at their brick and mortar location at 191 Main Street in Delhi from 11am-7pm on Thursday-Saturdays. Enjoy and stop by weekly as the variety of momos changes with seasonal ingredients. 

Chamber Member Spotlight: Heart of The Catskills Humane Society

The Heart of the Catskills Humane Society is a small shelter with huge heart taking care of rescues and strays until they find their forever home in the Catskill mountains. This shelter has been around for over 50 years and diligently serves the greater Delhi area. They have a thrift shop on site that sells a variety of items from clothing for humans and animals to water dishes, books, glassware and everything in between. 

For the first time since the pandemic, the Humane Society is hosting an in-person fundraiser. On Saturday, June 17th, The shelter is excited to welcome you to enjoy a night of dinner, dancing and fundraising among fellow animal lovers.
